  • Craniosacral therapy for the head and neck to help with chronic pain in a gentle manner

    Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, calming, hands-on treatment that supports the central nervous system and the body’s natural ability to restore balance. Using gentle pressure, this therapy helps release tension, reduce stress, and promote overall well-being.

This approach can be especially supportive if you are experiencing chronic pain, headaches and migraines, jaw or TMJ discomfort, tinnitus, lingering concussion symptoms, hypermobility syndromes, nervous system dysregulation, stress, anxiety, depression, fibromyalgia, sleep challenges, digestive concerns, and general tension or imbalance.

Although techniques focus on the head, spine, and sacrum, the effects are felt throughout the entire body.

We offer sessions as 60- or 90-minute appointments, which includes assessment and treatment time.

Craniosacral Therapy is performed fully clothed; loose, comfortable clothing is recommended.

    Therapeutic Massage

Therapeutic Massage is a customized, results-focused approach designed to support optimal health, mobility, and pain relief. Each session integrates a variety of evidence-informed techniques based on your individual needs. Modalities may include Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue work, Silicone Cupping, Trigger Point Release, Myofascial Release, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF), and Gua Sha.

Therapeutic Massage is commonly used to address chronic muscle or joint pain, sprains and strains, headaches, posture-related discomfort, repetitive-use conditions such as golfer’s or tennis elbow, stress, and more. Whether you’re managing an ongoing issue or simply seeking relief from everyday tension, treatments are tailored to support your goals.

For new clients or those with multiple areas of concern, we recommend a 90-minute session to allow sufficient time for assessment and effective treatment.

    Jaw (TMJ) Dysfunction Treatment

The temporomandibular joint (TMJ), or jaw joint, is a complex structure that can become painful, stiff, or restricted, often causing clicking or popping. At Align Bodywork, jaw massage focuses on relieving tension, reducing discomfort, and improving ease of movement in the jaw.

Gillian is trained in both external and internal jaw massage techniques and uses a gentle, informed approach tailored to your individual comfort and needs. Treatment addresses not only the jaw itself, but also related structures of the head, neck, and body that can contribute to jaw tension.

We offer Jaw massage sessions as 60- or 90-minute appointments, which includes assessment and treatment time. Please see our TMJ Treatment Page for more information.

Please note: If your jaw pain is new, sudden, worsening, severe, or if you have specific concerns about structural damage or instability of the jaw joint, we recommend consulting with your dentist prior to scheduling to rule out any dental or structural issues that may require medical attention.
